Accessibility Statement

Ultra Spec Cable, Inc. wants this store to be usable by everyone, including people who browse with a screen reader, a keyboard alone, voice control, magnification, or a high contrast display.

The standard we work to

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, version 2.1, at Level AA. That is the standard most commonly referenced in the United States for websites, and it covers things like readable text contrast, keyboard access, labels that screen readers can announce, and a sensible reading order.

Where we are today

This site is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Partially conformant means most of the site meets the standard and some parts do not yet. We would rather say that plainly than claim a clean bill of health we have not earned.

What we have done so far:

  • Text and background colors across the store were chosen and measured for contrast.
  • Every control you can click can also be reached and operated with the keyboard, and keeps a visible focus outline.
  • Product filters and menus work without JavaScript wherever that is possible, so they do not depend on a mouse.
  • Headings run in order, so a screen reader can move through a page by heading.
  • Form fields have labels attached to them rather than placeholder text standing in for a label.
  • Product photographs carry alternative text describing the item.

Known limitations

We know about these, and we are working on them:

  • Some product descriptions come from our suppliers and include specification tables whose wording we have not fully reviewed for clarity.
  • Some supplier photographs carry text inside the image itself, which a screen reader cannot read.
  • Parts of the checkout are provided by our payment and shipping services. We can report problems in those to the supplier but we cannot change their code.

If something on this site is difficult or impossible for you to use, please tell us. A short description of what you were trying to do, which page you were on, and what happened is enough. If you use assistive technology, telling us which one helps us reproduce the problem.

We aim to reply within five business days. If a fix will take longer than that, we will tell you what we are doing and when we expect it to be done.

You do not have to use the website to buy from us. Call 1-732-450-1900 or email sales@ultraspec.com and we will take your order and answer any questions about an item.

How this statement is kept up to date

We review this statement when we make a significant change to the site, and at least once a year. The date below is when it was last reviewed.
